Sister we Love – Lerato Moloi

A true leader doesn’t aim to make carbon copies of themselves, but influences those that they lead to become even better versions of themselves and even surpass the leader.

One of the most respected models and phenomenal woman in the country Lerato Moloi, who is now the face of a cosmetic house Elizabeth Arden. She started modelling at seventeen, funny enough she has always been interested in psychology but ended up in the modelling world. I guess you can’t really run away from your calling.

At age 29 she is a divorcee with two kids but truly living a graced life. She is a believer and thinks God works out everything for the good of those who love Him & called according to his purpose, no matter what she goes through.

She somehow thinks being a single parent can sometimes be very difficult, especially when she had a long day feeling physically and emotionally drained from whatever circumstance. Knowing that when it all comes down, she does not have a partner to share the load with but to gives all her burdens over to God to get through whatever situation she is in at that moment.

One thing she mostly appreciates though is being able to pray with her kids at bedtime and mealtime, also when she’s at home before leaving for work and school. She is a true believer of prayer and thinks prayer should be very high in any family dynamic.

She doesn’t only pray at home but Lerato is lucky enough to be working with people who are big believers in Christ. It is truly a blessing for her as she is surrounded by like-spirited people and they all encourage and help keep one another sane in this profession

She grew up in a loving and kind family where she was surrounded by loving, caring family and friends who keep her grounded. She was raised by a single mother who also played a big role in her staying grounded.

She is planning to give back to communities in an appropriate way because she wants to make sure that this ‘fame’ platform God has given her don’t go to waste, and she also want to make a change in her community (The Vaal) by making sure that it is more recognised for its beauty and resources.

People always think it’s an obligation for celebrities to give back after making it, to set example to their fans but Lerato surmise that everyone should give back no matter their social status “it is the responsibility of us all to build and uplift our communities”

She believes a good leader is someone who doesn’t aim to make carbon copies of themselves, but influences those that they lead to become even better versions of themselves and even surpass the leader, and thinks when it comes to leadership women are slightly different from men she quotes Dr Myles Munroe “women having dominion as leaders with ‘the power of influence’ as opposed to men having dominion as leaders with the ‘power of position”.
