Gospel Group Redeemed, Redeeming The Nation

Gospel group Redeemed are letting everyone know that God is able in their latest album, titled
God is Able, with amazing songs like Tsohle and Brothers Promise. Terrence Ramatselela, Stephen
Molakeng, Mojalefa Thebe and Bafana Nkosi together they are Redeemed.

The album features well-known artist such as Sechaba Pali, Thabo Mdluli, Patrick Duncan, Kekeletso
Phoofolo, Nqubeko Mbatha, Ntokozo Mbambo-Mbatha, Mahalia Buchaman and Lulama Gqanabisa.

“The album has 14 tracks with 80% original songs and 20% of Mzansi’s most loved traditional gospel
songs but well polished to suit every age group,” says Mojalefa.

The group has recently shot their first music video; they were so keyed up about it and could not
stop praising God for His provision in their lives as a group. They shot videos of two songs from their
latest album, Tsohle and Brother’s Promise, which they featured many male artists who want to send
a promise to be better man and protect every woman.

We all love men who come together for a good course, men that dedicate their lives to help build
and better the lives of others. In addition, we love men that come together to worship God and be
an example in other people’s lives by their love for God and the willing to change lives. Brother’s
Promise is a powerful song with the message of hope to everyone who has given up on man and
declared them as “dogs”.

Redeemed was conceptualised and formed in 1999 by five accomplished young musicians with a
vision. They together formed this amazing male sound that will get you worshiping. They all come
from a church background and that is where it all began, they used to sing for the church worshiping
team until God called them for greater things, to share their gift of singing with everyone.

Three of the male gospel quintet members, Terrence Ramatselela, Bafana Nkosi and Stephen
Molakeng, were at some point part of the well-known contemporary gospel group Joyous
Celebration. Meanwhile, Mojalefa Thebe and Rampa Masoko came into contact with Nkosi and
Molakeng when they were all members of group called Friends.

Their biggest inspiration is their love for God; and what keeps them together for 12 years is their
love for each other and for music. “Maintaining a good working relationship with men that have
their different personalities has not always been easy for Redeemed, “there have been rocky
moments and many challenges we face as a group but we are all friends and we have learn to
accommodate each other’s personalities” says Mojalefa.

These individual are all talented people in their different fields of life, they all have careers outside
of the group some are musical producers, constructers and they even have a pastor in a group and
that is Stephen. However Redeemed is what they are all passionate about and they are willing to
do whatever it takes to make a success of it. For them singing is not about making money but doing

what you love first and continuing with it even in the hardest times. Their drive to make a group a
success motivates them to make time even in their busy lives.

Redeemed is one of the few gospel groups that have already made a name for themselves in the
gospel music market. “We also shared the stage with Shirley Caesar at the Coca-Cola Dome and
have already been to Botswana and Swaziland, where our music has been eagerly accepted,” says
Mojalefa.

Their first single titled Mdumiseni was released in 2000, and the youthful tune was popular with
many Metro FM listeners who nominated it for the station’s annual awards, in the Best Gospel
category.

The album won a Metro FM award as a best Gospel entry and won a SAMA award in the best Urban
Gospel category as well.

With two awards in their name and their dedication and knowledge of God and that He is able; to
take them to the top, there is nothing that will slow them down in proclaiming who God is in their
music.
