One of the most dangerous endeavors in a person’s life is pursuing and taking possession of a lifestyle that does not belong to them. We are all gifted in one way or another and we all are destined for something. Because we are destined for something, we were all equipped with something to get us to our destiny. This is the reason why even a poor somebody is good at something, regardless of the fact that they were born in a poor environment. The question then is, why is it that people who are so equipped are not effective and influential in their fields?
The main answer is that we are not in our positions, and just because you are making money in a field it does not mean it is your field. We are not in our positions because we have been too occupied in certain other things that we failed to make an introspection and search within ourselves for the inner things that we possess. Maybe the reason for this is that we are too busy looking at other peoples’ lives and are trying to imitate it that we have stopped living our own. You know, you could get to “the life†by living “your†life. While you fail to make that introspection, because your eyes and your focus is set on something else, a gap is opened for inflictions to enter your inner space because you have not guarded it. While you are busy looking and wishing to be like that perfect family and that beautiful slim lady, you leave a door open for shame, low self- esteem, an inferiority complex and sadness to enter your sphere.
So much power has been endowed on us yet we fail to use it for the correct purpose. We are using our power, strength and ability to get to that which does not belong to us, all because we want some material benefits. We have redirected the power from its original course. Some have even compromised on character because it is our greatest desire to get the benefits thereof. The reason is that throughout our lives the implication has been that “as long as you have money then you are happy and all your problems fall awayâ€. Only part of it is true. You could be earning a great amount of money but may hate your career or job- that is the problem when you are not in your predestined position.
Because we have been leading a lifestyle which was not intended by God for us, that is why we have had very little or no impact in our sphere. We need to get back to our original positions and let go of the fake, artificial and non- effective lifestyle which we have identified ourselves with. Ephesians 4 v 17 reads: don’t be fools but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.
