Loyiso Bala Music Transition

Loyiso Bala is a multi-award winning South African artist, well-known for his great contribution to both the local and international music industry.

At the peak of his career in 2010, Loyiso, a committed Christian, felt the need to seek God in the area of his calling, to venture into the Gospel music market. “We as Christians should not be isolated to serving only in the church but to go out into the world and to spread the gospel of Jesus to everyone. Jesus clearly gave all of us this mandate. So mymission is to remind the church of this ‘Great Mission’ ”, says Loyiso. Loyiso enrolled at Rhema Training Centre to study a course entitled The Heart of Worship.

It was at this point in his life that the plan for his live project Love Complete was birthed. “We are delighted to welcome this legend of South African music to our Christian Art Media family. Loyiso is truly a talented and unique artist who has a gift of drawing people of all backgrounds together in a most wonderful way. We wish you well, brother, as you embark on this anointed journey, leading us into His presence”, says Nurden Cross, the General Manager of Christian Art Media.

Although this project is quite personal, with the majority of songs written by Loyiso, “it still remains a Worship album where all people will be drawn closer to the grace that makes our “Love Complete”, adds Loyiso. The first single off the album “Jesus To The World”,written by Pam Myburg from the pop sensation The Arrows, is already play listed on National radio and sung in churches around the country. “This midtempo track is a reminder to spread the gospel of Jesus to all nations.

The rest of the songs weave between ground-breaking African influenced gospel songs that introduce a new style to the Praise and Worship genre worldwide, some catchy church praise songs and a few of his signature style songs that will satisfy his long time fans. As a former member of the Drakensberg Boys Choir and then 19 years old, Loyiso, who is classically trained, was appointed the youngest conductor of the National Youth Choir. His versatility in music has led him to manoeuvre with ease between different genres in music. Starting off with the multi-platinum Kwaito group TKZee in 1999, Loyiso then embarked on an unprecedented solo career within the RnB, Pop and Urban genre. His 4 albums garnered him great success with the majority of them reaching gold status. On many occasions the South African media and public refer to him as the ‘King of RnB’.
